So the First Time I tried Elvis's most Famous Sandwich, mine had Bacon on it. Recently after looking up Mary Jenkins Langston, I found a video with her discussing the sandwich and demonstrating how she made. There wasn't any Bacon included, or even mentioned. I'm happy about that because I haven't found a Brand of Bacon that doesn't contain alot of sodium that I like. This coming Friday Marks Forty-Two Years since the Death of Elvis Presley. I would bet that alot of people are going to make themselves a Fried Peanut Butter and Banana Sandwich, including me. Except I will be using Cooking Spray and definitely No Bacon.Earline Taylorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09093656900538329502noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-325759409746592177.post-35159102771131894672017-12-06T17:33:47.082-05:002017-12-06T17:33:47.082-05:00Thank you for posting portions of my Mom's obi...Thank you for posting portions of my Mom's obit. My Uncle Frank, dead lo these past nine years, used to say, "Jumpin' Jimminy Cricket," whenever he was astounded by some childlike accomplishment.Nina Lentinihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03022014880102540472noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-325759409746592177.post-6484521866319649852013-04-07T12:07:37.421-04:002013-04-07T12:07:37.421-04:00I like old Thorndike's old fashioned corny kin...I like old Thorndike's old fashioned corny kind of phrase that he was known to frequently utter, "You have to take it easy going down the old Zambezi." I love that kind of stuff. I would never, myself, have the guts to say that kind of stuff in public as I'd be too self-conscious and embarrassed to come off like a cornball (and more's the pity that I'm not more like the apparently unselfconscious and better grounded and centered Al Thorndike). But I always like it when old people do. For me, it is evocative and reminds me of an easier slower-paced time. More importantly, though, if he truly lived that phrase and it was indelibly etched in the very fabric of his life, then therein lies the revelation of why he managed to live a lengthy 97 years.<br />Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07481201377783440321noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-325759409746592177.post-38777926298077545912012-05-04T14:31:46.463-04:002012-05-04T14:31:46.463-04:00My dad was definitely a goofball.
